Thanks! I know what you mean. He's a fantastic character, but even if he's considered 'dark', I hate drawing overly dramatic, needless emotional junk. I like my colors bright and my expressions fun.
Your welcome =] What you mean by overly dramatic emotional? You mean like blood and such?
Yeah. I like to have my pictures bright too though I usually use boring, dark colours. The onlii colours that I consider bright are when drawing Amy or Sonic
I suppose I could sum it up as a character sitting with a razor blade and swallowing a bunch of pills in a dark scene in the rain alone. The only colors being used are grays, blacks, and red while they wear chains and Gothic-clothing quoting either a classic Shakespearean scene that doesn't fit the context, or something similar to, "No one will ever understand me. My past is darkness. My heart is black. I should kill myself as I cannot possibly become a fulfilling person in life because Jeffy didn't ask me to the prom."
Followed by them drinking a bunch of Drain-o and slowly passing out in a long internal monologue about how no one will miss them.
Other than that, I like my colors bright and lots of smiling faces. And flowers. I love cute things and flowers.
Ohh...Like one of those things that people overdo over something trivial. Yeah I've seen some of those. Wierdly i find it funny. Strangely it actually happens in real life. Just heard stories. So basically quite a overly dramatic emo-like thing?
I love cute things :] Maybe some flowers buh mostly chibi or something like that.
Yeah in a way, depending on what the artist draws I guess would kiinda show the personality of the artist herself/himself.
Is an artwork about Shadow the Hedgehog with blood over his hands or whatever is an example of the 'overly dramatic emo' thing or is that okay? Coz honestly I don't mind abit of blood drawing.
Not necessarily. It's all about the context of the picture, I'd imagine, but art is pretty versatile.
Blood drawing is totally good on my account if it's something that really made sense. A killing scene, maybe. Perhaps an action scene where he's injured and there's blood. The loss of a loved one in battle, or some such. I would consider it overly excessive if it had a ton of dark overtones with something trivial. For example:
Acceptable: A bloody picture of Amy Rose who has blood on her, holding Sonic who is injured because he tried to save her. Would make sense. Tension, proper placement of drama, etc.
Not Acceptable: A bloody picture of Amy Rose trying to commit suicide because Sonic was too busy to meet her for a Sunday picnic in the park. Excessive over-drama over something that isn't really traumatic whatsoever.
